Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow

I said goodbye to a big part of my life today as I sold my car Trudy for an undisclosed amount. She was my first car, bought just off my mission from my parents. In the past six years I've put 75000 miles on her. With 217000 miles to date, she's taken me and many friends on various road trips; Mexico twice, California twice, Oregon and Washington once, New Mexico twice, and Las Vegas a few times. I drove Trudy down here to Texas, knowing that she would never see the blessed land of Wyoming again. Now that we are moving this weekend, its just not worth it to bring that old of a car all the way back to Idaho. Although we had our share of hard times and breakdowns along the way, she got me to school every day till I finished my doctorate. If ever I was struggling with school, money, or girls, I could always find comfort and serenity in her plush seats and loud stereo system. Trudy, you've been a good companion, and you will be missed.

Justin Crook! Oh my word! How are you? I have no idea how I found your blog, but I'm so glad I did. It looks like you are doing well. That's great. Congratulations on the baby and the new job. You have a beautiful family!
